I joined the team at Shaw Veterinary Centre in August 2016, having worked in a busy Veterinary Hospital prior to this. I enjoy working in a smaller practice, as it gives one the chance to really get to know each client and the individual personalities of their pets.
I became Clinical Director following the retirement of David Warnes, the practice founder, in December 2020. It is important to me to continue to build the practice on the same ethos and principles instilled in us all by David. We have a fantastic team here at Shaw, who have a wealth of knowledge and experience and will always endeavour to do the best for your pets, as we all have first-hand experience of what important family members they are.
I grew up in Devon, surrounded by cats, dogs and chickens, and spent much of my spare time helping out at the local farm. Becoming a vet seemed like the obvious career choice, and this was realised in 2007 when I graduated from Bristol University. I enjoy the variety that being a vet brings to every working day, from performing a cat spay in the morning, to vaccinating a Great Dane in the evening.
Outside of work I can mostly be found exploring the countryside, cooking, pub quizzing, playing various musical instruments, and keeping my two mischievous cats busy!
